Pentair introduced a new pool pump that will let pool owners save over a thousand dollars on operation.
Named Intelliflow VF, this pool pump cuts the operation cost by lowering the pump's flow rate. Unlike old pool pumps with unchangeable motor speeds, Iintelliflow VF is automatic,self-setting and self-adjusting, variable speed thus, the name variable flow (VF). This would slow down the pump but would use lesser energy consumption.
Intelliflow VF banners its innovative use of permanent magnet motors; same motors used in hybrid cars - the first in the industry. It also features a micro-processor that intelligently maximizes the pump's performance and at the same time minimizes energy consumption by managing the lowest amount of water flow.
This microchip is backed-up by an onboard computer and software that facilitate the pump's operation through programming or automatic operation collectively known as variable-drive technology.
A high horse power doesn't always mean efficiency. Intelliflow VF, compared to older pumps, uses lower horsepower that can provide 90% savings.
The average price is $1,700.
